2007-2008 Parking Rules and Regulations

8.0 KU Parking & Transit operates two parking garages on campus, which are restricted 24 hours Monday through Friday. The Mississippi Street Garage is located north of the Kansas Union at 13th & Oread, with entrances on Oread Drive and Mississippi Street. The Allen Fieldhouse Garage is located north of Allen Fieldhouse at Naismith Drive & Irving Hill Road, with one entrance on Irving Hill Road.

8.1 Toll. Hourly charge for parking in the garages is $1 per hour or any portion thereof.

8.2 A limited number of permits for either the Allen Fieldhouse Garage or the Mississippi Street Garage will be sold to faculty, staff, and students who meet certain criteria. Application for a permit should be made at KU Parking & Transit. Faculty, staff and student applicants may be placed on a waiting list. In order to ensure continuing use of the facility permit, permits must be renewed by July 31. (See section 5.6 for permit restrictions.)

8.3 The Allen Fieldhouse Garage. Vehicles caught leaving the Allen Fieldhouse Garage without payment or permit, including passbacks, will be assessed a $50 "theft of services" ticket and a police report will be made.

8.4 The Mississippi Street Garage. Any valid KU permit will be honored in this garage after 5 p.m. until 7 a.m. daily.
