How much does it cost to park in the garage?
The charge to park in the garages is $1 per hour.
Can I get a permit for the garage?
Yes. Staff permits are $230 and $275 per year. Students have to be on a waiting list before they can get the garage permit, which is $180. Garage permits are sold on an annual basis only.
Why isn't my Allen Fieldhouse Garage or Mississippi Street Garage permit valid in the other garage?
You can not use your garage permit to park in the "other" garage because they each have a very different system.
Why can't I park in lots around the garage with my garage permit?
You may not park in the lots directly surrounding the garages because we guarantee you a space in the garage. If you parked just outside it, you would, in effect, be taking up two parking spaces.
Please make sure that you keep the receipt from the pay station when you pay for your time. If you have this receipt, and we can see that you paid at the time the ticket was issued, we will be glad to cancel this ticket for you.
What if I accidentally punched in the wrong space number?
Again, please make sure that you keep the receipt when you pay. We will be happy to cancel a ticket when you have proof of payment – we completely understand that you might accidentally punch in the number wrong!
I don't want these damn tokens!
Those are $1 coins made by the US Mint, and can be spent anywhere. We don't want tokens, either.
Why isn't my regular surface lot permit valid in the garage?
Your permit is not valid in the garage because the garages cost more to maintain, and the permits which are valid there cost more. Please refer to the answer about garage permits above.Back to top
Why isn't tailgating allowed in the Mississippi Street Garage?
There is no tailgating (no grills, fires of any kind, or alcohol) in the garage because the fire marshall has forbidden it. If we find you with a grill or stove, we will ask you to turn it off.
Why isn't there toll parking in the tailgating area?
There is no toll parking in the tailgating area because all of those lots are reserved by the Williams Fund.
You have to move your car because the parking lot has been preempted for the game parking. You should park on the north side of campus. We also hold lots 34 and 61/62 for staff and students with parking permits who are on campus for academic purposes on game nights — please allow plenty of time to find a parking space and get to your building.
Where can RV's park for football games? For basketball games?
Football — Park your RV in lot 90 near Allen Fieldhouse (18th & Naismith). No charge for parking, use the shuttle or walk over the hill.
Basketball — Park your RV in lot 94 near Memorial Stadium (11th & Mississippi). No charge for parking, use the shuttle bus from lot 53 (along Mississippi Street) or walk over the hill. Back to top
